ok so this guy euthyphro is talking with my boy socrates and he starts some casual talk, you know, just like the ancient greeks did. and our man euthyphro, we'll call him easy e, is spittin his story about some murder his father committed, and socrates is talkin his story about being impieous. whatever he says. what is holiness anyways? he says.
our boy easy says 'holiness is what i'm doing, punishing my father for doing evil.' but our boy socra is all ' hey man, what is holiness really?'
and our boy easy say 'hey man, holiness is what the gods love. unholiness is what they hate.'
so soca is all 'well if man decides what is good, like you punishing your father, arent' men just as good as the gods, thus making it impossible for anything to be holy?'
and easy is all 'whoa, don't committ hubris there soca.'
but soca is all ' hey man, it doesnt matter. it's not unholy'
~long pause~
easy e says in closing ' oh i guess thats about right...'
now you be speakin my language, homes.
